To add a Christmas frame to a video, open your clip in the tool above. This page starts on Christmas holly: a cream border with sprigs of holly and red berries at the corners and “Merry Christmas” written in the deep bottom band. Change the words in Caption, or pick another festive look, then press Export video and send the file to family.

Every Christmas look is drawn into each frame of the film, not stuck on top as a sticker, so it plays the same in a group chat, on a smart TV or in an email. Nine Christmas and winter designs sit in the Holidays category, and they work on any clip: a nativity play filmed on a phone, the dog in a paper hat, a snowy walk. For a feed post, set Shape to 4:5 or use a square frame so the app shows the whole card.

How to make a Christmas video card

  1. Choose your clip

Drag the video onto the page or press Select video; on a phone the button reads Choose video. It opens framed in holly.

  2. Pick a festive look

Press Browse all looks (or L on a keyboard), tap the Holidays chip, and try holly, baubles, fairy lights, candy cane, tartan, gift wrap, stars or snow.

  3. Write the greeting

Edit the suggested words in Caption, such as “Happy Christmas from all of us”, or clear the box for no text.

  4. Save and send

Press Export video. When the bar fills, choose Download video, or Share on a phone to drop it straight into a message.

The Christmas looks

Traditional

Christmas holly puts red-berried sprigs on the corners of a cream border, with a script caption underneath. Gold star garland does the same on deep green with gold stars and “Season’s greetings”, a good choice when the card goes to people who don’t all celebrate Christmas.

Lights and decorations

Fairy lights strings coloured bulbs along a deep top band on a dark, night-time border. Christmas baubles hangs red and gold baubles from the top edge on pine green. Tartan and bow and Gift wrap turn the whole clip into a wrapped present, with a bow tied at the top of the picture.

Snow and winter

Snowflakes scatters white flakes over navy; Winter frost is a pale, icy gradient with blue flakes. Neither says “Christmas” outright, so they still suit a clip posted in January.

Make the frame match your footage

  • Look colours shows round swatches for the parts a design uses, such as Decoration and Decoration 2 for the holly’s berries and leaves.
  • Match video colours reads a few colours from your clip on the device and recolours the look to suit them.
  • Decoration size makes the holly, baubles or flakes bolder or more delicate.
  • Under More options, Font switches the caption between Sans, Serif, Mono, Hand, Bold and Script.

Corner pieces and hanging decorations reach a short way over the edge of the picture, the way real holly would hang over a photo frame. If a face sits right in a corner, raise Border width or lower Decoration size to give it room.

Sending a Christmas video

Messaging apps squeeze large files, so keep the card light: under Export settings, set Size to 1080 or 720 and Quality to Standard. A clip of 30 seconds or less sends quickly on any connection. If the footage runs long, trim it first with the scissors under the preview.

For a Story or a full-screen status, choose 9:16 and the holly frame grows to fill the screen. To mount the clip like a printed photo instead, the instant-photo frames on the video frames page give a softer, keepsake look.

Christmas video frame questions

Can I change “Merry Christmas” to my own message?

Yes. Click into Caption and type over it. Your words stay when you switch to another festive look; the suggestion only fills an empty box.

Is there a Christmas frame without any text?

Yes. Clear the Caption box on Christmas holly, or choose a look without a caption band, such as Fairy lights, Snowflakes or Candy cane.

Do the decorations cover my video?

Only slightly. Corner sprigs and hanging baubles or lights overlap the outer edge of the picture; scattered snowflakes and patterns stay in the border. A wider border moves them further from the middle.

Can I make a Christmas video card on my phone?

Yes. Open this page in your phone’s browser, tap Choose video, pick a look from the sheet that slides up, and share the finished file from the Share button.

Is the Christmas frame free, with no watermark?

Yes. There is no sign-up and no watermark, and the clip is processed on your own device rather than uploaded.
